In this webinar, we will explore why some cats are more predisposed to developing FIC than others and the common risk factors associated with FIC, such as obesity, indoor lifestyle, and living as part of a multi-cat household. We will work through not just the clinical signs, but also the behavioural signs associated with cats suffering from cystitis, which will enable nurses to perform effective triage of suspected cases before or upon arrival to the veterinary clinic. We will investigate the term ‘Pandora’s Syndrome’ and look at how certain stress triggers can cause cats to develop the symptoms linked with FIC. We will also cover what factors might contribute towards a vet to make a diagnosis of FIC, and the commonly prescribed medications used to treat or manage it.
